After a rough day yesterday, I am excited to share another baby step.

Nancy and I were sitting on the couch, and I thought I saw the sheet over Garren's foot move. I looked at Nancy and said, "Did he just move?" She saw it too. We jumped up and uncovered his foot. After a few more seconds, sure enough, Garren wiggled the toes on his right foot! It's little, but it's something, something new.

Garren continues to keep his eyes open for longer periods of time. We watched Toy Story 3. I will read our quiet time to him a little later tonight.

The plan is still for us to move to rehab on Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks for your continued prayers.

Cheering with you in Garren's baby steps!! (Even baby steps add up to complete a marathon) How cool that you were both there to witness it!

Still praying! Sweet prayer time at Southbrook Monroe last night as we brought the Janes' family to the feet of our Almighty Heavenly Father and entrusted you all into His very capable, creative, strong hands.

We love you guys!

Isn't our Lord amazing? Just think how far you have travelled since he complained of a headache. We continue to pray for you and your family. The Green Valley family is praying for you also...many of us are being ministed to by your words and biblical insight. I know that there will be days in the future where it will be hard to be postive...just continue to lean on the Lord and each other. Again, thank you for being so open with all of us.

So sorry with everything else you're dealing with that you had to say farewell to your Pepa, but I know you must be truly thankful to have had him here for so many years.

We're very excited to hear about this very positive step with Garren today. It may be a baby step, but it's HUGE progress. Thank you for the update and hope everyone enjoyed Toy Story 3. In for the long haul, The Sisk Family

Wonderful news about Garren tonight! So glad to hear he's making more progress....makes our hearts sing! How sweet that you guys were able to share that moment together....you guys are a great team! Love to see marriages that operate like the two of ya'll!

We'd like to extend our sympathy to your entire family during this time of loss of your grandfather. Sounds like he was a wonderful man& influence that will be missed much by you all. Our prayers are with you. I'm sure it's comforting to know he's dancing with Jesus tonight!

We hope you guys will be able to get some needed rest through the night. I know you're all purely exhausted. Our prayers for tonight are more baby steps & refreshed energy for each of you in the morning.

Katherine would like to know if you guys will please tell Garren she thinks of him all the time, to hang in there & that she is praying for him everyday & night. :)

Love to you all,
Ritchie, Donna, Racheal, Katherine, Luke, Madelyn& Brady

In Toy Story 3 the toys didn’t like how Andy put them in the attic. Woody tried to tell them It’s not for them to decide. They belong to Andy. One of my boys leaned over to me in the theater and whispered, “Mom, Andy is God.” None us like being in the attic, whether we’ve lost someone or we have to watch our child spill a tear while waiting patiently for the healing restoration or a young mother has to live in poverty now because her husband has been out of work like so many. To walk through those times with trust that God has a purpose, shows when you understand whom you belong to. And now we see the huge numbers stirring the waters of healing through prayer and hear about the wiggling toe! Praise the Lord, and thank you for your candid walk.

thank you Sweet Jesus!! The tears this am are happy ones. (-: I have to tell you what Morgan said when I read your blog to him about Garren's tear! He looked at me and said,"don't cry, Mom" ..." Garren's tear was a happy tear because his dad and mom love him so much and they were there with him!" I pray that this is true! We are praying everyday! We are so happy about his toes!!! (-:
Your grandfather is dancing and praying for Garren in heaven! I was raised in Mississippi and lived in Memphis for 4 years....a lot of "good folk" there!!(-:
Autry and Betty Freeman send their love and prayers from Newnan,Ga.
We are rejoicing with you and Nancy today! Thank you for sharing your hearts with us...the good, the bad, and the ugly!! That is what makes it so real.
Just as Bob and Barb said...baby steps add up to a marathon and the Wingate family is with you every step of the way!!!

Dancing in the midst of weeping. Dancing that Garren opens his eyes and that your granddad is dancing in Heaven. And weeping happy tears that Garren moved his toes!

You're in our prayers,

Hello, my name is Parker Tuck and I go to Piedmont Middle school and I'm in the seventh grade and I don't really know Garren that much but every time I go to church (when I do go) there is atleast twenty people that stand up and when the preacher asks would anybody like to send prayers. Almost everybody in our church say "Garren Janes" And I'm thinking that most the people don't even know Garren but I can tell you that everybody is praying for him including my family
