Good morning. We had an uneventful night. Which of course is a good thing.

Today is Garren's birthday. The nurse asked me how we were feeling about it being Garren's birthday. I said "We're glad he's here to celebrate it." And we are.

I've heard from several of you that you had prayed specifically for small responses from Garren. And yesterday we did see several small responses. Praise God.

One of the responses the doctors have been looking for from day 1 is a cough, or gag. He has a breathing tube that goes down his throat. Periodically they suction his airways. We do this naturally, often without thinking about it, when we cough. Today, while suctioning, the respiratory therapist saw a slight cough. Praise God for another very small response.

Thank you for continuing to pray. I look forward to seeing some of you today as we celebrate the big '14.'

Happy Birthday Garren!

Hap-py Birth-day to you, Hap-py Birth-day to you, Hap-py Birth-day to Gar-ren, Happy Birthday to you!!!

I came across this passage during quiet time last night and wanted to share it for your birthday...

Romans 5:1-5, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith in to the grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perserverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."

Today we pray for more coughs and gags, and we know that hope does not disappoint us. Feel the love of all those near and dear around you and feel the Holy Spirit working through you.

In for the long haul, In His love,
The Sisk Family

Hey Geoffrey and Nancy...we are living not too far from you now in Evans, GA!

I rush to the computer every morning and as soon as I get home from work...looking for updates. I am praying earnestly for all of you!

A song I use to sing says,

"God will make this trial a blessing, though it sends us to our knees. Though the tears flow like a river, yet in HIM there's sweet relief. There's no need to be discouraged, there's not need to talk defeat. God will make this trial a blessing and the WHOLE WIDE WORLD will see!

I wait with you...

Garren..today there was a prayer service for you...it was amazing..Jonathan & Judith Bareham led it...when you are awake, there will be so many people sharing with you how much God has led them to Himself through you...and people say teenagers are trouble!! You will have to have another addition put on your home to contain all the letters of love written to you...and for mom and dad and your sisters...you are trusting God faithfully, what a testimony of love and truth to all that know you...love and prayers for the "marathon" Sandy, & Russ
