Tuesday March 15, 8:00am

Yesterday Garren had a great day in therapy.

In occupational therapy, Tara had him sitting up, with his hands on the mat, using his arms to support some of his weight. First she moved his head to his left side and we asked him to raise his head. "Pull Garren! Pull! You can do it, pull your head up!" I could see the determination in his eyes. He was really trying. Then all of a sudden his right should jerked and his arm moved! It was awesome. We had him try a few more times on that side. Tara would keep her hand on Garren's right shoulder and neck. She could feel his muscles contract each time he tried to lift his head.

Then she switched sides, moving his head to the right side. We asked him to lift his head, and slowly but surely his head moved up and back. He is definitely stronger on his left side. We had him work that side a few more times as well.

Remember, Garren is having to rebuild muscle. He is very weak. We don't even think about how heavy our head is - it takes a good bit of effort to hold it up.

Once again, it is exciting to see small steps of improvement.

Garren's eye seems to be a little bit better. It is a little less red and irritated looking. It still has some healing to do.

8 days until Garren comes home. The plumbers were here working on his room when I got home yesterday. The ramp will be built this Saturday. Hopefully we will be painting this weekend as well. We are still praying about the van. Thank you for your prayers.

Praying for all of the details as you prepare for Garren to come home to his new room. It's beautiful to hear how so many people are coming together to help your family. Also, continuing to pray for Garren's progress and for all of you as you transition into having Garren at home. Blessings, The Hogans

Wow, I'm so glad he's coming home! That is great news, and he's doing such good, hard work! I was in the hospital one time for 6 days, and not able to get out of bed and walk around. I couldn't believe how weak my legs were, I could not walk the halls by myself, but had to lean on someone after only 6 days. So we'll be praying for strength and continued determination from your young man. He's doing so well!! - Leslie Waldron

Good and encouraging news to hear of Garren's improvements. Happy to hear of God's sending people and supplies in answer to prayers. Thank you for sharing what the Lord is doing through your trials and tribulations. It is encouraging my faith as well....Donna Lochridge

Thank you for sharing yesterday's post, "Dark." Wow! That really paints a good picture of what Garren must be experiencing right now. I am so thrilled to hear how hard Garren continues to work in rehab. Intense determination and hard work is nothing new to Garren ~ they are his forte. We continue to pray for Garren to "break through the surface" and for God to completely heal him. He is able!

Love & Blessings,

So wonderful to read about his great day yesterday...those are the days you have to hold on to during those darker moments...I know that's easier said than done! Glad the eye is doing better too! Tell Garren we're so proud of him and we continue to cheer him on. He really is filled with God's Light. We'll continue to pray for him to regain strength and for things to work out with the van. In for the long haul, The Sisk Family
