Generosity

We had a visit last night from a young girl who did something big. Many of you have been so generous, and we can't thank you enough. The money for gas, food, and other expenses is such a blessing, and I thank our God everyday for your gifts.

Last night I got a message from Kailtyn Rogers. She said she had raised "a little money" for our family. She and her mom were going to be out, and she wanted to know if she could drop it by the hospital.

About an hour later, I met Kaitlyn and her mom in the hallway. She handed me two envelopes. I asked her what it was. The first was an envelope full of cards she had brought from her church.

I asked about the second envelope. Kaitlyn and her mom told me that Kaitlyn had written a letter and had mailed it out to 43 of their friends and families. In the letter she told Garren's story, and asked for funds to help with Garren's expenses. She said "This envelope is only the beginning. We've given everyone until the end of March to get back to us."

There was $600 in that envelope.

Wow! Thank you very much Kaitlyn! And thank you to each of you for your financial help. It truly is a blessing.

"Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart-not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

That is just awesome. I love reading your blog and comments. It really does brighten my day amidst such turmoil in the world to hear stories like this. Sometimes as a Christ follower you feel alone in your neighborhood, in your school, at your work, while shopping, among family and even friends. The stories, comments, and your blog help to remind me daily that we are never alone. First of course, God is always with us and he will carry us when we need Him to, He will comfort us, He will strengthen us. Second, there are many fellow Christ followers out there. Maybe all we need to do is open our hearts a little more to see. What a special heart Kaitlyn has.

We enjoyed hearing that Garren is progressing in rehab. Most of all that he is not having typical responses. We are praying for continued healing of his brain and that God will "wake" him fully and give him the strength he needs to fight back. You go Garren! The Poovey family.

That is so wonderful! I just continue to be amazed by how many children are truly moved by Garren's story and want to help, be it finacially, or through cards and letters, or through prayer. We're praying for you to see more positive signs today and for all the days that follow. In for the long haul, The Sisk Family

Wow, that is wonderful about the money and cards...and we wonder why Garren goes through this?!? What an honor when he finds out that God used him to bring so many to their knees asking God to heal your son, and to bring so many to you with their gifts of love, all for a young teen that many did not know, and how many people are in love with all of you, and are constantly praying for Garren. I have to share with you...this has all been so amazing, yet scary, yet wonderful, yet humbling....a myriad of emotions, and I am not even family...I know you trust God...and the "world" knows that you trust God, and, well, we will continue to trust God...through the good and the bad, knowing, that the "bad" may not really be all that bad in God's great plan..ok, enough rambling...stay strong in Him, ok? Love and prayers, Sandy & Russ

Geoffrey, Thank you again for taking the time to blog for all of us. What a great blessing you received from Kaitlyn Rogers. It is obvious that you have been preaching to her from Garren's bedside. She has seen the LORD in your actions and then followed your example by stepping out for the LORD by trying to help Garren and your family. We continue to pray for you and your family to find strength and peace in the HIS arms. We also ask the LORD to make Garren whole again here on earth.
All our love,
Mark, Cindy, Nyan, Dominic & Sophie Cianciosa
