As promised, we finally found the iPad 2 in stock and got it for Garren to use. Of course, he was ever so excited to see it. We have to help him, he's still got a lot of 'fine tuning' to do with his hand and arm movement. Nancy or I can sit with him and help him move his arm where he wants, and he can point with his finger and touch the keys. The keyboard on the touch screen responds so much better than a normal keyboard. The other nice thing is that if he holds the key to long, it doesn't produce a whole string of letters, like on a typical computer keyboard.
I've been working with Garren this week on some mouth exercises. Tomorrow we are getting a visit from Wren, the speech therapist that worked with Garren in the hospital. We are so excited to see her again. I can't wait for her to see how much Garren has improved since we were there just two weeks ago!
The PT and OT continue to work together with Garren on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They are so good with him. He puts forth so much effort. As I've probably already said over and over - he's such a hard and determined worker! We are so proud of him.
We went back to the eye doctor today for a follow up visit. The doctor said it looks great - that the eye was definitely less irritated. He also said that we would probably keep the eye stitched for a couple of months. No big deal. We want to protect that eye. We have started to notice the left side of Garren's face is starting to wake of a little more. His right arm and leg are also catching up to the left side. Slowly but surely, we continue to see new improvements.

Awesome! I am so glad to hear about his continued improvements...keep up the great work Garren! Can't wait to see you on Sunday!
I am continuously amazed at how God can work right before our eyes. I pray that we all may not become complacent with what God does every day. I am again thankful for your updates. I hope he enjoys his new toy!
Good Morning Janes Family!

We are so happy to hear of the continued progress in Garren. Thank the Lord for His wondrous mercy and grace when we need it. We will continue to pray for improvement in all areas and that his eye will rest and heal properly, that his right side will catch up with his right side and both be restored to former usefulness. God is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and He knows them that trust in Him. Donna Lochridge on behalf of Metrocrest Presbyterian Church ~ Carrollton, TX.
We are so excited every time we hear of Garren's progress. My girls didn't know him personally, but we're praying for him and cheering him on every step of the way! I was thinking about how we love hearing all the positive steps - but we really have no idea how much work goes into each one. Boy, that's alot to go through to get an ipad! . It is so great to hear of his continued progress. We thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! It is such an encouragement!
To think what has happened in the last two months!! From death to life!! How fitting....our Jesus from death to life....and you all are so following Jesus...keep leaning on Him dear family...it might get hard to not see as much progress as you would like, but, as before, God has a great plan, and you are all such a part of it. We will continue to pray for all of you unitl you tell us to stop....Garren...keep on leaning on Him....love & prayers, Sandy & Russ
