The room is much bigger, we have more room to spread out. And we have a view! The window overlooks the front entrance of the hospital. The room in ICU looked out over a gravel covered roof...pretty depressing actually.
We met with one of his rehab doctors. We talked about a lot of things. She explained some of the goals. She and her team will be assessing Garren over the next day and working on a plan for him.
As far a visitors go, we want to stay as focused as possible on Garren's therapy during the days. We're asking that no one drop by unexpectedly. If you want to visit, please let us know you are coming, and please only come in the evenings.

That room looks much better! (And the bed looks longer...) I'm praying that will be the room where the miracles happen! --Paulette
Glad you guys are in a new room. I can only imagine taking down and moving all the cards. Must have been a lot of work. Love you guys. And we sure do miss Garren and Kara at church.
My prayers are with Garren and his wonderful family. Dear Lord, let the healing begin. I believe in miracles and I know in my heart a miracle will occur. The power of pray is will heal all.

One small step at a time. God is working! He must really be busy with all of these prayers for Garren and the Family. Perserverance and Endurance,...what a message. Just like in Football, His son will continue to shine on Garren,...our
"Sunshine". We continue our prayers.

We are so excited for you guys about Garren's new room!! As I looked at the picture all I could think about is the beautiful sunshine beaming through those windows! How fitting for your "Sunshine" on his first day in rehab! I'm sure the view will be so refreshing opposed to a gray roof....praying those gray memories will be replaced by many brighter days filled with God's love& warmth & mercy through that sunshine for you all. Praying without ceasing!
Love to you all,

Rehab can be pretty scary. I remember when Tony went to Duke. He could hardly walk and I saw all these exercise machines and the football stadium, right out the window, where they wanted him to walk...all those stairs!!!...laps around the field!!! I thought they would kill him! It was a very difficult time for me to watch. I had watched for weeks at his bedside, but I couldn't watch this. But God was there..of course..and the therapists were excellent. After months he recovered and went back to the field. So just a head's up...this can be very scary for you and for Garren, but God is there, too!!!
