Things are the same. We wait. Garren lays in bed, waiting. Waiting for his brain to heal. Waiting for things to return to normal.

I have been reading Exodus in my quiet time the last few days. I can't stop thinking about Moses, and the Israelites. Moses was called by God to lead the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage. God promised Moses that He would free the Israelites from the Egyptians.

Moses went to Pharaoh. He asked Pharaoh to let the Israelites go - after all, that's what God told him to do, and God promised He would work t out!

But Pharaoh didn't let them go! He said no way! So Moses, by God's command, began calling plagues down on Egypt. Water turned to blood, hailstorms that destroyed crops and livestock, frogs, gnats, on and on it went. Each time Pharaoh promised that if Moses would call off the plagues, he would let the people go. And each time Moses called of the plague, Pharaoh changed his mind.

Now Moses had to be confused, frustrated, and annoyed at all of this. God said all I had to do was ask, and it would be done! And every time it looks like we are going to succeed, we have another setback! What's going on here God!

I'm no Moses. I'm not leading anyone out of slavery in Egypt. But we are facing a tremendous trial. I don't know why - and I don't care why right now. I do know this. I, along with thousands of Christ followers around the world, have been continuously crying out to God for Garren's healing. And each time we see something going in the right direction, it seems to turn and head the other direction. Just like Moses' experience with Pharaoh, I feel like God has promised to get us through this, to deliver us from this 'bondage.' I believe that God hears our prayers.

I prayed yesterday with a group of friends: "God, you obviously hear us, now we wait for your response." And we wait...

I'm watching Garren right now. He lays peacefully in the bed. And the Bible verse I continue to hang on to is Exodus 14:14 - "The LORD will fight for you; you must be quiet."

So we wait...

Amazing...we are in a constant conversation with God on behalf of Garren and your whole family. You are all so important and so special to many and we love you!

Romans 8:26-28 (The Message)
26-28Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Geoffrey, your post reminded me of a song I sue to listen to and loved by Greg Long. Here are the lyrics.
Navigation: G \ Greg Long \ In The Waiting

Pain
The gift nobody longs for, still it comes
And somehow leaves us stronger
When it's gone away

Pray
I try and pray for Your will to be done
But I confess it's never fast enough for me

It seems
the hardest part is waiting on You
When what I really want
Is just to see Your hand move

I want a peace beyond my understanding
I want to feel it fall like rain
In the middle of my hurting
I want to feel Your arms as they surround me
And let me know that it's okay
To be here in this place
Resting in the peace that only comes
In the waiting

Time
Time to let it go and just believe
Trusting in what no one else but You can see

Free
Freedom from the fears that close me in
When I can't get beyond where I have been, but then

Again
The silence doesn't mean that I'm alone
As long as I can hear
That I am still Your own

We love you guys and are in a state of prayer.

Praying continuously for you all and especially Garren. One thing from your post really struck me. You said that you are not leading anyone out of bondage in Egypt. I believe that through all of this God will lead people out of the bondage of sin and into salvation. It is certainly not the way we would ever imagine let alone choose, but God will use your faith, and I believe Garren's healing. I love you all!

Praying for Garren and all of you.
..by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and He heals the sick, trust in Him and the work He did at the cross. He took it all at the cross for us, so that we could be healed, whole and complete. Claim His promises for Garren, claim Garren's healing, it is his, given to him by Jesus on the cross. See Garren's healing in reading all the miracle healings Jesus did in the Gospels. And remember how much God loves you, focus on His love for you, Garren, Nancy and your whole family. He gave His one and only Son for you, that's how much He loves you and wants Garren to be strong and healthy. He loves you all so much, focus on His love for you all.

I grew up in FL and still have a church family there. My mom added Garren and your family to the prayer list at Spruce Creek Baptist Church. This has touched a special place in all of us. God answered our prayers 3 years ago and I like to think that our son will do great things in His name one day.

It is a trial and the waiting is so hard, but when you make it to the other side, you breathe again and you will never look at life in quite the same way as you did before. It's a deeper appreciation and gratitude of how fragile we are, but yet how whole we are when we're held in God's hands. The strength He gives us to endure this kind of pain is absolutely beyond understanding. Cling to it!

In a time of turmoil and unrest, this beautiful child of yours has brought people together all over the world...he has brought us to our knees. I know Garren feels it...He does know his God is fighting for him!

That's powerful stuff. I feel for you and Nancy and Kara through this wait, and I pray for Kelsey to be shielded from the ordeal.

If you can be quiet and allow the Lord to fight for you through something this severe, it gives us strength to wait in silence through our struggles which pale in comparison.

Isaiah 40:31 "They that WAIT upon the Lord will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings as eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint."

As I read your post I couldn't help but think of Is. 40:31:

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

May God grant you and your family patience for the wait, strength for the marathon and peace with the process. Thinking of and praying for all of you daily. Continue to allow the Great Physician to work His mighty deeds for His ways are greater than ours. Love you all!

"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." This same passage keeps popping up in my head as I pray as well. My daughter has known Garren through AIG classes for the past 4 years. He, and your entire family, have been on our minds, and in our hearts and prayers non stop since we heard the news. I cannot begin to imagine how you are feeling right now. But this could have been any of our children, so we all feel the helplessness, hurt, and anguish along with you. We bear this burden alongside you. Garren may be still but God is active at work inside of him. Prayers for strength and peace for all of you.

Our Sunday School family is also praying for you both along with the girls and specifically for Garren. We pray for strength for you both, wisdom for the doctors and patience for all as you wait for God's perfect timing. Thank you for the postings.
